DILG Student Internship Program Weekly Journal

June 26-30      During my week 3 with DILG I was assigned to help my fellow intern to the GK or Gawad Kalasag MDRRMO evaluation. I thought it was so easy to do but in the long run, I admit that it was kinda hard not mentally but physically. My back was aching sitting all day and looking at the computer, my brother-in-law jokingly told me that after a month I got to have my glasses because of the radiation from the computer. As I have observed regarding how the LGU's think about this GK seriously, I can really tell who are those municipalities or provinces that are really looking into their risks and hazards, how they manage to ease the casualties that their place suffers and how alert they are in responding and giving aid to their people. June 19-23 Starting my week Work from Home. With DILG Interns could choose what day he or she wants to do WFH. You just have to attend the virtual flag ceremony and be available 8 am to 5pm to your mentor if he/she has something to ask you for work. It is very convenient for us interns and also for the employees especially to those who lives a bit far or have issues with traffics on the day like Monday. My mentor Ms. Jenica is so amiable; she doesn't make me feel unease and my doubts doing a good work has lessen because she corrects and answer my questions attentively.  They've let me borrow laptop and have my own desk. It's really a thumbs up with DILG . Last June 23, 2023 we had an orientation regarding the DILG and the LGRRC and I've learned the structure and function of DILG including its brothes and sisters which on the interior part of the DILG.   I've attended 1 special meeting of the LGRRC where I was able to take down notes.   June 13-16, 2023    Week 1 with DILG, the first thing that I've noticed is the way they welcome people, it is very pleasing entering a place where you meet people saying good morning with a smile and a hello how's your day. I've seen a lot of faces and offices that we've visited by the tour one thing that embarked with my head is how they work tirelessly and continuously with a smile on their face. They are very well focused and active in times that I have questions. They have their own individual computers where they are looking at it straight, I wonder how many times they blink just to clear their sight if it gets irritated by the radiation or get dry because of coldness. I've noticed them going in and out in every office to deliver papers or to have them signed.  The office is very silent and a bit cold, maybe I'm still not used to cold room temperature but before I forgot, they always observe to put the air-condition to 24°c to remain at their energy consu...
