WEEK 1: Weekly Journal with DILG
June 13-16, 2023
Week 1 with DILG, the first thing that I've noticed is the way they welcome people, it is very pleasing entering a place where you meet people saying good morning with a smile and a hello how's your day. I've seen a lot of faces and offices that we've visited by the tour one thing that embarked with my head is how they work tirelessly and continuously with a smile on their face. They are very well focused and active in times that I have questions. They have their own individual computers where they are looking at it straight, I wonder how many times they blink just to clear their sight if it gets irritated by the radiation or get dry because of coldness. I've noticed them going in and out in every office to deliver papers or to have them signed.
The office is very silent and a bit cold, maybe I'm still not used to cold room temperature but before I forgot, they always observe to put the air-condition to 24°c to remain at their energy consumption and that clearly shows how they follow orders. I love how they answer questions and teach me in a way that I won't be intimidated or be afraid to ask. Sometimes we have minimal conversations to get to know each other, I like how they treat me, and they also call me Ma'am which is I'm not used to it. They are really working on time, they arrive early and leave late or exactly 8 hours of time.
This is the office that I am assigned. The Strategy and Results Management Unit where my mentor is Ms. Ma. Jenica D. Villabeto LGOO V. Along with her are Sir Aljon, Ma'am Janine, Ma'am Rosemae, I haven't got others name, but they are all friendly. They assist me on things that I don't know, they make sure that I remember it. As the first week started the process of sending and receiving letters are the first thing that I've learned in order for the documents to be found where it was delivered and monitor if it was received. I was also given a chance to borrow a manual that serves the brand identity of the DILG for me to learn the logos and the right place where to put logos. Though I haven't had a lot of works it was also okay because I can observe the environment of this office.
