WEEK 2: Weekly Journal with DILG
Starting my week Work from Home. With DILG Interns could choose what day he or she wants to do WFH. You just have to attend the virtual flag ceremony and be available 8 am to 5pm to your mentor if he/she has something to ask you for work. It is very convenient for us interns and also for the employees especially to those who lives a bit far or have issues with traffics on the day like Monday. My mentor Ms. Jenica is so amiable; she doesn't make me feel unease and my doubts doing a good work has lessen because she corrects and answer my questions attentively. They've let me borrow laptop and have my own desk. It's really a thumbs up with DILG. Last June 23, 2023 we had an orientation regarding the DILG and the LGRRC and I've learned the structure and function of DILG including its brothes and sisters which on the interior part of the DILG.
I've attended 1 special meeting of the LGRRC where I was able to take down notes. While the meeting was on Roll Call, participants from different divisions/units and Sub LGRRCs are expected to attend for this 2nd quarterly special meeting and unlike other meetings that I've been to, in this special meeting there are no absent so then I can conclude that when it comes to orders and strict meetings, they are very attentive and disciplined. As the meeting goes on, there were agenda's that were laid on and tackled, and I can see that they are really studying and evaluating their programs that you can easily understand what they are pointing to or what is that program for. The participants, DILG personnel and attendee of each unit are very active in questioning, recommending or suggesting their points of information which the presenter has highly acknowledge and answered each question. I am amazed by the opportunities that the DILG offers, especially the Scholarships on certain courses and its benefit the employee. It is really giving a vibe which is not only once but a lot of opportunities to excel and become the best person out of you.
I admire how each of them present their programs with a substance that is really connected to the Vision, Mission and Shared Values of DILG. Upholding the characters of Isko na matino, Isay na mahusay at Ana na maaasahan which I hope I can also adapt these values during and after my stay here in DILG and even in the phase studying and working. the whole week, I've observed how busy they were in helping Local governments to reach goals and serve people with a good service and it is really impressing that each of the units has its own function where such activities they propose prosper and helps the community to develop and have its harmony. As I go on with my internship, I've managed to do some tasks which I am new with, and still going with task that I find hard.
