WEEK 4: Weekly Journal with DILG

 


July 3-7, 2023

    Starting my week 4 creating activity design for my proposed topic in KM serye. It is about the SKMT of the DILG where I plan to give a head start to the planned trainers for the newly elected SK officials. I'm thinking on the proposal of my co-intern which is regarding to the income generating projects of municipalities or LGU to rise their revenue. We have consulted our mentors regarding our proposed topics, and they said that because we had more than one proposal, they will intervene with choosing the topic. Our mentors choose my proposal, and we started making concepts and formulating Ideas on the output or the target participants. For this week, I made letters for the resource speaker and finishes the activity design. 


I was tasked in creating Pre and post evaluation for the participants. This will be used in our recommendations if ever there are and to know if ever the participants have learned or increased their insights. 






I also attended the Barangay Newly Elected Officials (BNEO) Program Designing Workshop. They have discussed the updates of this and how would it help the newly elected officials. They had discussed different approaches in elevating the ideas and one by one tackled the values of a team or the office. they have also discussed the assets, resources and achievements that will support them to achieve their purpose. During this whole week, I have learned that the DILG really process their programs, projects and activity with the accordance of their vision, mission and shared values. They are conducting programs which supports the development of the LGUs and plays the role of being matino, mahusay at maaasahan in times of workload.

August 7-11 Our last week was the most stressful one. We were worrying about how we could have a conversation with our participants. Luckily, one of our first participants finally agreed to have an interview with us but hurriedly left because they had some work to do. We did the last minute change of participants and we are happy that they actually participated with us. For our KII we had interviewed LGMED and Legal Office Chiefs and things went well. This last week was the most stressful week for us. As we journey to the finish line on our policy paper.Those participants that we needed weren't really willing to help us despite the letters, referrals that we sent to them.We went to their barangay just to have no one even one representative to face us, It seems that SK officials are really questionable about their commitment in terms of serving the public.

WEEK EIGHT: Weekly Journal With DILG

  July 31- August 4 It was a blast!! A heavy week but a very fruitful one. This event, I can consider one of the main event in my internship. I have interacted with different people I have discussed different ideas and shared my creative thoughts. Local Investment and Incentives Code is a workshop where different municipalities discuss and generate their LIIC and those participants were very active and jolly. At the time we were preparing tools and things to be utilized on the activity and I've been questioning myself if I could handle to participate because of my social anxiety in which in LGSF last time there were not so many participants and only a small room but for LIIC it was a huge one and there were really like 2 times bigger number of participants during the LGSF. WEEK 2: Weekly Journal with DILG

June 19-23 Starting my week Work from Home. With DILG Interns could choose what day he or she wants to do WFH. You just have to attend the virtual flag ceremony and be available 8 am to 5pm to your mentor if he/she has something to ask you for work. It is very convenient for us interns and also for the employees especially to those who lives a bit far or have issues with traffics on the day like Monday. My mentor Ms. Jenica is so amiable; she doesn't make me feel unease and my doubts doing a good work has lessen because she corrects and answer my questions attentively.  They've let me borrow laptop and have my own desk. It's really a thumbs up with DILG .
